One Oconee County Day Care Rated 'Non-compliant' by State Standards

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution has created a list of scores for Georgia day care centers.

For 2011, only one day care in Oconee County was rated non-compliant; documens show the non-compliance is based upon non-payment of home-based registration fees. Teresa Adams’ home day care was not evaluated on any other criteria based upon this information.

Based on data compiled by the Atlanta Journal-Constitution, Oconee County’s day cares rated mostly compliant for 2011 by the Department of Early Care and Learning.

Scoring has changed over consecutive years of rating and this year, there were only 2 options – Compliant or Non-Compliant. The reports from the Department of Early Care and Learning are provided in PDFs for the single facility found not compliant.

290-2-3-.04 Registration Requirements   Not Met

Finding

  • Rule 290-2-3-.04(2) (d) Registration Requirements and Applications
  • Rule 290-2-3-.04(2) (d) A registration will be issued, upon presentation of evidence satisfactory to the department, that the home is in compliance with applicable statutes and these rules.
  • Rule 290-2-3-.04(2) (d) requires the family day care home to comply with all applicable laws and regulations. Georgia law (O.C.G.A. Sections 20-1A-4, 20-1A-10 and 20-1A-12) requires a family day care home provider to pay an annual registration fee in order for a registration to be issued. Georgia law (O.C.G.A. Sections 20-1A-4, 20-1A-10 and 20-1A-12) requires that an annual license fee be paid for each family day care home registered by the Department. A review of records determined the total annual license fee for this family day care home was not paid by the due date of December 31, 2011.

POI (Plan of improvement)

Your registration has expired and the Department has begun the process to issue a notice of license revocation if the total annual license fee and any applicable late fee are not paid by January 31, 2012. The center is reminded that annual license fees are due to Bright from the Start by December 31, 2011.
