On July 31, voters will head to the polls to decide whether or not to impose an additional 1 percent sales tax on every purchase made for the next 10 years. The proceeds from this tax will fund a specified list of transportation projects with a small portion of the proceeds set aside as discretionary transportation spending for local governments. State Offices
Georgia House District 117 was newly-drawn to include parts of Oconee, Athens-Clarke, Barrow and Jackson counties. Incumbent Rep. Doug McKillip of the former District 115 is being challenged by Athens attorney Regina Quick. from a June 14th forum at North Oconee High School.
