With three-fourths of the vote, Jennifer Riddle beats Pamela Hendrix.

In a landslide Tuesday, Jennifer Riddle was elected tax commissioner of Oconee County. She will replace Harriette Browning,

Riddle received 6,231 votes and 2,136 went to opponent Pamela Hendrix. Tuesday's results still need to be certified. Nearly 46 percent of the 21,632 eligible active voters in Oconee County cast ballots, the majority for the Republican primary.

"I really appreciate all of the support that I got, it was really overwhelming, Riddle said. "Everybody in the county was very good to me."

Having served as deputy tax commissioner, Riddle is already familiar with the office.  She said she's excited to continue to learn from Browning during the transition period over the next five months.

Riddle plans to explore online and phone renewal options for taxpayers and also offer them the option to make payments with credit or debit cards.
