Oconee County GOP Holds Candidate Forums

The following information was provided by Jay Hanley, Chairman of the Oconee County GOP:

The Executive Committee of Oconee County Republican Party has decided that in lieu of regular GOP meetings in June and July, that we would hold local candidate forums for the races for Sheriff, County Commission Chairman, County Commission, Posts 1 and 4 as well as Board of Education Chairman, Tax Commissioner and State Representative, District 117 and a discussion on T-SPLOST.
The Oconee Regional Republican Women will join us in sponsoring the forums.

At the Thursday, June 21 forum, we plan to focus on the races for Sheriff, County Commission Chairman and County Commission, Posts 1 and 4.

The Thursday, July 19 forum will focus on the races for State Representative, District 117, Board of Education Chairman, Tax Commissioner and T-SPLOST. Both forums will be held at the Watkinsville Community Center, 191 VFW Drive, Watkinsville. The evening will begin with a meet and greet reception from 6:30-7 p.m. with the forum from 7-9 p.m.

Thursday, July 19

Each part will consist of opening and closing statements by each candidate and written questions submitted by audience members and asked by moderator Blake Giles, editor of .
