On New Year's Eve day, officials made arrangements for the school's two buses to be power washed and detailed after they were found to have been vandalized by fire extinguishers.
The vandalism happened sometime between noon on Dec. 29 and noon on Dec. 31, according to an incident report filed at the .
The unlocked buses had been parked behind the building on New High Shoals Road in an area not visible from the roadway, deputies noted.
The buses were sprayed inside and out with fire extinguishers, leaving them covered in flame-retardant dust.
Another school van was left undisturbed.
A representative of the school told deputies she theorized the vandalism was a prank pulled by students who were on campus for the varsity girls' and boys' basketball games against Piedmont on Dec. 30.
