Watkinsville Police: Woman Reports Harassing Phone Calls From Inmate

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville Police Department.

On Sunday afternoon, a VFW Drive resident reported that a 31-year-old inmate in the State prison system was telephoning and harassing her.Β  Watkinsville police contacted correction officials at Hayes State Prison in Trion to halt that activity, police chief Lee O'Dillon reported.

In his weekly news release, O'Dillon recapped some of the other incidents that police responded to during the week ending Nov. 13.

  • Wednesday evening police responded to Charity Lane after residents became involved in an argument over a roaming dog. The dog was confined and the situation was resolved.
  • On Friday, an Oconee County man advised that a Water Street resident had stolen some tie-down ratchets from his pick-up truck. The items were returned and charges are pending.
  • At mid-day Sunday, police were called to an argument between a boss and his employee at a Highway 15 address. The 22-year-old employee was asked to leave the property and not return.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 29 calls within city limits between Monday, Nov. 7 and Sunday, Nov. 13.
