Watkinsville Police Blotter: Heating and Cooling Unit Swiped From Vacant Home
The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville Police Department.
In his weekly news release, Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending Jan. 15.
- Police were called to Colham Ferry Road at South Main Street on Jan. 10 just before 8 a.m. after a 2012 Acura was bumped from behind by a 2004 Kia Optima. No one was injured. A 36-year-old woman from Jeremy Drive was cited with following too closely.
- On Wednesday, Jan. 11,Β a representative of Bank Of America reported that a heating and cooling unit had been stolen from a vacant house on Katie Lane sometime during the past year. The unit was valued at $1,500.
- Sunday morning police observed a 1991 Jeep Cherokee unable to stay in its lane while traveling southbound on Ga. Highway 15. Police stopped the vehicle and, after failing sobriety testing,Β charged a 17-year-old Oconee County resident with DUI, failure to maintain and underage possession of alcohol. He was booked and later turned over to a parent.
Watkinsville police responded to a total of 29 calls within city limits between Monday, Jan. 9 and Sunday, Jan. 15.
