Watkinsville Police Assist Hartwell Authorities

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville police department. An arrest does not indicate a conviction.

In his weekly news release, Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending July 3.

  • Officers responded to domestic situation calls on Niagara Drive and on Felton Drive on July 3. Both situations were resolved.
  • On the afternoon of July 1, the Hartwell Police Department issued a lookout for a suspect after a large amount of copper wire was stolen from a home improvement store.  The suspect reportedly fled in a 1997 Honda Accord that Watkinsville Police spotted later that evening. After being picked up by Watkinsville officers, Kimberly Lynn Corry, 30, of McRee Street, was turned over to the Hartwell Police Department, O'Dillon reported. A computer check revealed that Athens-Clarke County was holding a warrant in Corry's name on a charge of failure to appear related to minor traffic violations, he added.
  • Police were called to a domestic situation at a Taylor’s Drive
address on June 28.  Officers stood by while one person moved out of the residence.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 29 calls within city limits between Monday, June 27 and Sunday, July 3.
