Watkinsville Police Help Woman Block Harassing Calls

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville, Ga., Police Department. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

Watkinsville Police came to the aid of a Concord Drive resident Saturday evening who said she'd been receiving harassing phone calls by someone known to her.

According to Police Chief Lee O'Dillon's weekly news release, officers provided assistance with blocking the calls and, if the harassment continues, criminal charges could be pending.

O'Dillon recapped some of the other incidents that police responded to during the week ending on April 29:

  • Police responded to Barnett Shoals Road at First Street on Tuesday morning, April 24, after a 2012 Jeep Patriot and a 1995 Nissan 240-SX were involved in a mishap. No one was injured. Both vehicles were attempting to enter the same lane at the same time.
  • Just before 5 p.m. on Tuesday, April 24, the driver of a 2003 Honda Civic ran into a 2008 Dodge Caravan as the Dodge was attempting to make a right turn from Main Street onto School Street. No one was injured. A 64-year-old Winder man was charged with following too closely.
  • Police were called to a domestic dispute between neighborhood kids on Concord Drive around 7:30 p.m. on Wednesday, April 25. Words had been exchanged between teenagers. Both sets of parents agreed to handleΒ  the situation.
  • At 9:49 p.m. Wednesday, April 25, police were called to a Harden Hill Road address where a 23-year-old woman was attempting to move out against the wishes of other family members. Police stood-by to maintain order while the woman gathered some belongings and departed.Β  The same family members called again on Saturday to advise that the woman had removed clothing items that did not belong to her.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 31 calls within city limits between Monday, April 23 through Sunday, April 29.
