Watkinsville Police Supervise Child Custody Exchanges

The following information was supplied by the Watkinsville, Ga. police department.

In his weekly news release, Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon noted the following incidents:

  • At 3:45 p.m. Friday, Dec. 28, police met with a Jackson Street resident who was concerned about a child visitation issue. The other parent, who lives in Monroe and had the child for the holidays, was contacted and the situation was resolved.
  • Also last Friday at 6:23 p.m., a large deer leaped into the side of a westbound 1997 Ford Ranger on Barnett Shoals Road. The truck’s driver was not injured but one side of the pick-up was smashed.
  • Much of the holiday week police spent supervising child visitation and custody exchanges. Otherwise, it was a very quiet week with police responding to 27 calls for service inside the City.
