Watkinsville PD Crime Report

Police investigated a trailer theft and assisted in making arrests for nearby law enforcement agencies.

Last week, Watkinsville Police assisted a number of area law enforcement agencies by making arrests on theft, assault, and probation violation charges, Chief Lee O'Dillon noted in a press release. Here are the highlights:

  • During a traffic stop on Thrasher Drive on Jan 27, a man jumped out of the truck and ran away.  After a foot chase, officers detained Brandon Keith Jordan, 26, of Crawford, O'Dillon said. When a computer check revealed that Jordan was wanted on a felony theft by taking charge in another county, he was turned over to the Oglethorpe County Sheriff's Office, said O'Dillon.
  • Also on Jan. 27, the Madison Police Department asked Watkinsville officers to check a local hotel for a suspect wanted on assault charges.  Bryan James Clark, 37, was arrested and turned over to the Morgan County Jail, O'Dillon said. Also arrested on the scene was Donna Darlene Bates, 48, of Statham, on an outstanding warrant for probation violation in Athens-Clarke and Madison Counties, O'Dillon said.
  • Police are  investigating the theft of a Winterville man's rig valued at $15,000, O'Dillon said. The tan 1985 International F-9370 truck-tractor and 1998 Dynaweld trailer reportedly disappeared from a parking lot on Industrial Boulevard where it was undergoing repairs on Jan. 28, he said.   Police issued a look-out, and the truck and trailer's data, including the Georgia license plate PH 3272, has been entered in a nationwide computer system.

Officers responded to a total of 31 calls inside the city last week, O'Dillon said.
