Officers investigated a noise outside of an apartment, responded to a traffic accident without injuries, and issued a speeding citation on New High Shoals Road.

In his weekly news release, Chief Lee O'Dillon recapped some of the incidents that police responded to during the week ending April 17.

  • On April 11, police were called to Cedar Hill Circle about 11:30 p.m. to investigate noises outside of an apartment.Β  An 18-year-old Winder man was said to be intoxicated. Following a computer check, Joseph Brandon Vaughn was arrested on a warrant for probation violation and turned over to the Jackson County Sheriff's Department, O'Dillon reported.
  • Officers responded to a 2-car accident near J&B Quick Stop on Greensboro Highway shortly after noon on April 14.Β  No one was injured, O'Dillon said.
  • Police stopped a driver traveling at a high rate of speed on New High Shoals Road around 3 a.m. on April 15.Β  A 26-year-old man was charged with driving on a suspended license and speeding.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 29 calls within city limits between Monday, April 11 and Sunday, April 17, O'Dillon said.
