Watkinsville Man Faces Felony Drug Charges in Athens

Athens-Clarke County Police arrested Joshua Edward Tucker at a Lexington Road convenience store on Feb. 21. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

An Athens-Clarke County Police officer on patrol saw a vehicle being driven by a man he believed had outstanding warrants around 2:30 p.m. on Feb. 21. The warrants were confirmed and the officer made contact with Joshua Edward Tucker, 27, at a Lexington Road convenience store and arrested him.

As the officer talked with Tucker he saw what he believed to be a marijuana cigarette. During a search of the vehicle, a quantity of suspect marijuana, cocaine, and Hydrocodone pills were found, according to a police report.

Tucker, of Wire Bridge Road in Watkinsville, was charged with possession with intent to distribute marijuana, possession of cocaine, possession with intent to distribute schedule I/II drug, and possession of schedule I/II substance, possession of a schedule I/II substance.

According to jail records, bond was set at $10,000 for the drug charges but Tucker was being held on two felony probation violation charges.
