Two Wounded In Motorcycle, Minivan Crash

Two Watkinsville residents were treated for serious injuries following an accident in Barrow County late Saturday morning, the Georgia State Patrol reports.

Two Watkinsville residents were seriously injured in a traffic accident involving a motorcycle and a minivan in Barrow County late Saturday morning, the Georgia State Patrol reported.

Just before 11:30 a.m. on July 30, Dala Griffeth, 26, was headed southbound on his Kawasaki motorcycle on Thurmond Road near the intersection of Dooley Town Road when a 66-year-old Bogart woman backed her Plymouth Voyager out of a private drive, striking the motorcycle, said Lt. Paul Cosper, public information spokesman for the Georgia State Patrol.

Griffeth was taken by EMS to and his passenger, 24-year-old Rachel Griffeth, was life-flighted to Atlanta Medical Center, Cosper said.

The driver of the minivan was not injured, he said. She was cited with failure to yield, he added.
