Three Unlocked Vehicles Entered on VFW Drive

Watkinsville Police say they've identified a suspect.

Watkinsville police early Sunday, Sept. 22, were dispatched to VFW drive where three vehicles had been entered sometime overnight.

Two Dodge Rams and a Ford Explorer had been left unlocked and parked in apartment driveways, according to a news release from Chief Lee O'Dillon.

An MP-3, some music CDs and miscellaneous items were taken from inside of the vehicles, he said.

"Thanks to an alert neighbor, police have identified a suspect and are following-up on the thefts," O'Dillon noted in the release.

In other news, a 1992 Honda Accord pulled from First Street into the path of a westbound 2000 Nissan Maxima on North Third Street just before 5 p.m. on Sept. 17.

No one was injured but both cars were damaged.  The 66-year-old driver of the Accord was charged with failure to yield to the right of way, according to O'Dillon.
