William Wilson Heaton, accused of hitting Kennesaw University student Emily Bowman last February, now has a restraining order against him.
Heaton has been living with a woman in Oconee County. According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, the woman who asked for a restraining order said Heaton began harassing her on January 11. She also requested that Heaton be ordered to have an evaluation for drug and alcohol abuse.
The story says that Athens Clarke County State Court Judge Charles Auslander ordered Heaton to have no contact with the woman, who now lives in Barrow County, and to stay out of Barrow County.
Heaton faces numerous charges related to an accident involving Emily Bowman, and authorities believe his pickup swerved off Oak/Oconee Street and hit the 19-year-old woman as she walked from downtown to a friend's house on Feb. 16. He is alleged to have been intoxicated at the time of the accident.
Bowman, who is at home with her parents, cannot talk or walk. She suffered extensive brain damage.
The story says that Heaton posted a $38,000 bond and wears an ankle monitor. He lives on Barnett Shoals Road.
