A 17-year-old girl was reportedly taken to St. Mary's Hospital early Saturday for treatment related to alcohol consumption.
When Oconee County Sheriff's deputies arrived at a home on Whippoorwill Road around 1:45 a.m., medical first responders were already on the scene assisting the girl who was unconscious and vomiting, according to an incident report.
Witnesses said the girl "arrived at the home already under the influence, produced a bottle of alcohol and continued to dink until [she] fell unconscious at which time EMS was contacted," a deputy wrote.
The girl's mother was contacted and she requested her daughter be transported to St. Mary's Hospital where the teen was treated and released the same day, the report noted.
Two other teenagers also tested positive for alcohol, according to the report, and they were turned over to their parents. Others who had not been drinking were allowed to leave.
Deputies also spoke with the homeowner, who had been asleep. She reportedly told them she wasn't aware that the teens had been drinking. Deputies determined the woman did not contribute to the situation, and charges were not filed against her, according to the report.
