Tattoo, Clothing Help Deputies Nab Burglary Suspect

Jennifer Marie Haller of Watkinsville has been charged in the burglary of the Murphy USA gas station, authorities say.

A Watkinsville woman was charged with burglarizing a gas station convenience store Tuesday after deputies recognized her clothing on and tattoo on surveillance footage, Oconee County authorities reported.

Jennifer Marie Haller, 34, is accused of breaking into the Murphy USA at 1031 Jordan Drive and stealing lottery tickets and cigarettes around 1 a.m. July 26, Chief Deputy Leems Weems said.

Haller had been questioned by deputies in an unrelated matter earlier in the night and deputies recognized her clothing when they reviewed security tapes of the burglary, Weems said.Β  Though her head was covered, Haller's tattoo was visible in the images and deputies matched it to a booking photo from a prior arrest, he said. Haller was taken into custody while at an Atlanta Highway residence, Weems said, adding that she was in possession of the stolen cigarettes and lottery tickets at the time.
