Sheriff's Deputies Pursue, Arrest One Shoplifting Suspect

The second shoplifting suspect remains at large.

From the Oconee County Sheriff's Office:

On 11/06/13 at 8:31PM, OCSO personnel responded to a call at Kohl's on Epps Bridge Road involving two theft suspects that had fled when confronted by store personnel. The two suspects made it to a vehicle and while fleeing the area struck another another vehicle.

A Deputy responding to the call saw a Ford Contour traveling at a high rate of speed and attempted to stop the vehicle. He pursued it to the Old Waverly subdivision off of Rocky Branch Road. The two suspects ditched the car in the back yard of a residence in Old Waverly and fled on foot. The Ford Contour is registered to an address in DeKalb County.

On-duty personnel set up a perimeter and began searching the area. Off-duty personnel responded to assist. At approximately 2:45AM on 11/07/13, Captain Gainey observed a vehicle with a DeKalb County tag at the RaceTrac. One of the occupants matched the general description of one of the Kohl's suspects. That individual, identified as Kewon Tyrone Robinson, had an active warrant from Cobb County and was arrested on that warrant. Robinson is not currently charged in the Kohl's incident, and his presence of RaceTrac at that time may be purely coincidental.

While still on scene at RaceTrac, an individual identified Antonio James Walker (18) of Atlanta, emerged from the bathroom. He matched the description of the other Kohl's suspect. He initially gave a false name. He has since been positively linked to and is charged in the Kohl's incident.

We are still seeking to locate the second suspect (the larger black male) from the Kohl's incident. We have a tentative identification and are working to confirm that information.
