UPDATE: Sheriff's Office Warns of Suspicious Door-to-Door Salesman

The man may have been in the area of Townside Drive at the time of a reported burglary, authorities say.

UPDATE Nov. 10: The Oconee County Sheriff's Office reports the van was located after being spotted by a citizen.  The occupants have been identified and are employees of the Kirby vacuum cleaner company.  They have been advised to get a permit to sell door to door in Oconee County.

Authorities believe a man going door-to-door offering the sale of floor cleaner may be linked to a burglary that occurred at a Townside Drive residence in Bishop Tuesday evening.

According to the , someone entered the home through a bathroom window sometime between 6-9:15 p.m. and took several pieces of jewelry.

A neighbor told deputies he saw a 1980s white Chevrolet Astro van in the area driven by a Hispanic male that appeared to be in his late twenties to early thirties around 7 p.m. Tuesday, a news release via social media noted.  Two or three other men may have also been inside.

The man had approached the neighbor and offered to sell the neighbor floor cleaner.  The man also gave the neighbor a small bottle of dish washing liquid.
