Sentence Handed Down to Oconee Sheriff's Brother for Child Exploitation, Marijuana Manufacture

Glenn Berry will serve 15 years of a 60-year sentence in prison.

A Flowery Branch man who is Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry's youngest brother was sentenced this week in Hall County Superior Court on charges of possession of child pornography and manufacture of marijuana.

According to an article in the Athens Banner-Herald, Glenn Berry, 46, pleaded to 26 counts of exploitation of a child and one count of manufacturing and possession of marijuana on Wednesday and received a 60-year sentence, of which he will serve the first 15 in prison.

The charges stemmed from a search of Glenn Berry's home in August 2011 and , according to previous reports.

Sheriff Berry wrote about the sentencing on his Facebook page Thursday, as he did when his brother was indicted last year.

"The Hall County Sheriffs Office conducted a thorough, complete investigation and Glenn has faced the bar of justice as he should have," Berry commented on the page.
