Arrest Made in Search for Suspect

Oconee County Sheriff's deputies set up a perimeter in the area of Tanglebrook Drive near Epps Bridge Road to look for a burglary suspect and a man was taken into custody on an active probation violation warrant.

and Athens-Clarke County Police set up a perimeter in the area of Tanglebrook Drive near Epps Bridge Road and used a K-9 unit to search for a burglary suspect, described as a black male, 6-feet tall with an athletic build, wearing a dark jacket.Β 

A resident reported walking in on a man burglarizing her home just before 10 a.m. Thursday, Chief Deputy Lee Weems said.

Shortly after noon, the Sheriff's Office announced a man was in custody on an active probation violation warrant.Β  He had not been charged with burglary and the case was still under investigation.
