Search for Suspects Resulted in 3 Arrests

Three individuals were booked at the Oconee County Jail on Wednesday in connection with the incident: one for theft by receiving stolen property, one on a drug-related charge, and a third for obstruction of a law enforcement officer.

Two Statham residents and a Monroe woman were arrested Wednesday after Oconee County Sheriff's deputies were called to investigate a report of a stolen motorcycle.

The three were placed into custody in the Hebron Church Road area.Β 

John William Hardigree, 50, of 1331 Osborn Road in Statham was charged with possession of a scheduled IV substance and Sunshine Ichelle Carter, 20 , of 1243 Dale Drive in Monroe was charged with theft by receiving stolen property, according to booking reports.

Deputies also arrested Lynda Gayle Sims, 64, of 2111 Hebron Church Road in Statham and charged her with obstruction of a law enforcement officer after Carter was discovered to be hiding in Sims' basement, according to incident reports.

The motorcycle has been returned to its proper owner, reports stated.
