School Bus Involved in Fender Bender Last Week, No Injuries Reported

Watkinsville police say an 80-year-old woman was cited after she allegedly backed into the bus on Jeremy Drive.

No one was injured when a 2013 Toyota Corolla backed into the side of an Oconee County School bus last week as it was driving by on Jeremy Drive.week.  According to Watkinsville Police Chief Lee O'Dillon, the accident happened shortly before 3 p.m. An 80-year-old Jeremy Drive resident was charged with improper backing, he said.

O'Dillon also reported the following incidents:

  • On Wednesday, April 10, a property owner from Woodside Place advised that a former tenant had moved out of his house and, in addition to trashing the residence, had broken into a storage shed. Three weedeaters and some electrical supplies were missing. Police are attempting to locate a new address for the offender.
  • A Danielsville woman reported to Watkinsville Police that her 2013 Toyota Highlander was parked overnight Thursday, April 11, at a local convenience store parking lot. When she returned Friday morning, a Visa debit card and a iPod-4 were missing from the interior. The SUV was unlocked at the time.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 29 calls within city limits between April 8-14, 2013.
