Police: Accusations of Infidelity Spark Domestic Dispute

These are some of the calls handled by Watkinsville Police for the week ending October 27, 2013.

At 11:45pm on Sunday, October 27th, Watkinsville police responded to a domestic situation call between a husband and wife on VFW Drive.  The wife was accusing the husband of having an affair with a woman at church.  The husband was accusing the wife of having an affair with a man at the same church.  After a cooling down period they decided to separate for the night. 

Other calls for the week ending October 27 include: 

*On Thursday morning a North Main Street resident reported that he had been involved in an altercation with a neighbor late Wednesday night.  The 43-year-old man had several deep scratch marks on his face.  Police contacted the 45-year-old woman neighbor who had a different version of the events.  Criminal charges are pending.

 *At 11 a.m. Saturday police were dispatched to a VFW Drive address where a woman reported that her 14-year-old daughter had run away from home.  The girl was quickly located.  There seems to be an on-going argument between mother and daughter.  The 14-year-old was going to a friend’s house without permission.

 * Late Saturday night police were called to a North Main Street residence after a 49-year-old homeless man claimed his life had been threatened.  After talking with other people present at the location, police could not confirm the man’s complaint. He decided to leave the area.

During the week ending Sunday, October 27th, the Watkinsville Police Department responded to thirty-one (31) calls for service inside the city.
