UPDATE: Parent Abducts Child From Oconee Day Care Center, Sheriff's Office Says

The child has been found safe and the suspect is in custody.

11:05: The Sheriff's Office says the day care has been "completely cooperative and forthcoming."

Investigators are conducting interviews and reviewing video tape provided by the child care facility.

"We will release more information when we have a complete picture of what happened," according to the latest post by the OCSO on a Facebook thread. "Our foremost responsibility and concern was the safe return of the child, and there are also some privacy/legal issues intertwined with the case.

7:41: "We thank the ACCPD for the awesome teamwork tonight," the OCSO posted on Facebook. "Great job!! I also want to thank our own staff for pulling together like they did. The little girl is in good spirits, and Lt. Higgins bought her some chicken nuggets for supper."

7:29: Oconee County Sheriff Scott Berry told the Athens Banner-Herald Fluri will be charged with interference with custody of a child.

7:20: According to 11 Alive News, while the day care -- which hasn't yet been identified by authorities -- was in the process of verifying whether Fluri could take the child, she left with her.

6:20.: The child is safe and Fluri is reportedly in custody. Athens-Clarke County Police located the minivan on Milledge Avenue.

5:50: From the OCSO- "The child has not been found. We do not have a current location or direction of travel. We do believe her to be in the Athens/Oconee area."

Imagine that! A mockery of a representative calling an issue a mockery! How much of his outrageousRead More salary and benefit package is he willing to give up? And what he calls fact is seriously distorted information. Good leaders don't run and hide from an issue and then blame others for their shortcomings... I realize good leaders are hard to find.... but, why do we continue to tolerate mediocrity? A vacant seat would be just as effective as this congressman... actually, as I think about it, probably more effective.
