What Would Happen if there was a School Emergency?
The Oconee County Sheriff's Office reminds the community that contingency plans are in place if needed.

when a teenage gunman opened fire early Monday morning at Chardon High School in Ohio. The tragedy left the community and the nation shaken.
The incident prompted the to take the opportunity to assure parents that contingency plans for emergency situations exist should the need arise.

"We value our relationship with both the public and private schools within Oconee County, and we believe that this unified approach to disseminate information in an emergency situation is vital," a news release stated. "Hopefully, we will never have to implement these plans."
