Oconee Sheriff's Office Crime Report

The following information was gathered from Oconee County Jail booking reports and incident reports:

July 31

• John Russell Murray, 33, of Rays Church Road, was charged with DUI.

July 28

• 25, of Ridge Ct. in Athens, was charged with obstruction of an officer and misdemeanor marijuana possession.

July 27

• Brandon Patrick McCarthy, 18, of Old Bishop Road, was charged with simple assault.
• Kevin Christopher Gee, 25, was charged with simple assault.
• Roy Lee Thomas, 33, of Cole Ridge Ct. in Athens was charged with probation violation.

July 26

• , 34 of Mayne Mill Road, was arrested and charged with burglary.  Haller was charged on July 27 with one count forgery in the first degree.
• Around 1 p.m., security officers notified deputies of a possible shoplifting incident in which $78 worth of items including a dress shirt with a clip on tie, maxi-pads, razors, markers, and body mist were reportedly taken. TavaresRogricas Hull, 23, and Jewel Elizabeth Hull, 18, both of Statham, were each charged with theft by shoplifting. 

July 25

• Around 7:40 p.m., deputies met with Watkinsville police at a 100 block residence on VFW Drive to serve an aggravated assault warrant out of Rockdale County.  Rockdale County authorities picked up Kelly Lynn O'Brien, 38, of Watkinsville.
