Oconee County Sheriff's deputies were called to investigate a handful of burglaries over the weekend, in addition to at least five reports of entered autos.
A television and shotgun were taken from a home in the 2000 block of Atlanta Highway in the early morning hours Friday. According to an incident, the burglary occurred sometime between 6:45 and 9:30 a.m. Investigators are following up on leads.
Also on Friday, investigators were called to the 5700 block of Hog Mountain Road where a storage shed had been burglarized. About $2,000 worth of tools was taken, the Athens Banner-Herald reports, including chainsaws and nail guns.
A deputy on scene noticed a neighbor's shed had also been entered, apparently pried open with some type of tool. A $300 chainsaw was stolen along with some other items not yet detailed in the original incident report.
