Oconee County Grand Jury Hands Down Indictments in Multiple Cases

Criminal indictments are not evidence of guilt; they are only charges. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

The following are indictments returned by the March 2012 term of the Oconee County Grand Jury, filed with the Clerk of Superior Court on May 30, 2012:

  • , 22, Rays Church Road, has been indicted on criminal attempt to commit murder, two counts of aggravated battery, two counts of aggravated assault, three counts of burglary and one count theft by taking.
  • , 33, of Watson Springs Road, has been indicted on the charges of aggravated assault, four counts of terroristic threats and acts, and two counts of battery. 
  • , 23, of Greensboro, has been indicted on the one count of criminal attempt to commit a felony and one count obstruction of an officer.
  • , 64, of Bishop, has been indicted on two counts of aggravated assault.
  • , 28, of Athens, has been indicted on one count of trafficking in marijuana.
  • Thomas Lebron Hill, 42, of Watkinsville, has been indicted on one county of failure to register as a sex offender and one count of driving without a license.
  • , 40, of Homer, has been indicted on one count of burglary.
  • Freda Michelle Lasitter, 39, of Pine Hill Circle, has been indicted on one count of aggravated assault, one count pointing a pistol at another and one count of simple battery.
  • Douglas McArthur Beavers, 47, of Nicholson, has been indicted on one count of theft by taking, one count criminal attempt to commit a felony, and one count aggravated stalking. 
  • Michael Jason Massey, 31, of Hull, has been indicted on one count of obstruction of an officer and one count of driving on improper registration.
  • Kevin Tyler Martin, 22, of Bogart, has been indicted on one count of criminal trespass and one county of obstruction on an officer.
  • Christopher Shameke Young, 21, of Bogart, has been indicted on one count of simple battery and once count of hindering an emergency telephone call.
