Oconee Authorities Arrest Athens Man on Charge of Enticing a Child

Investigations are ongoing. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

An Athens man is accused in Oconee County of distributing "sexually related items" to a 14-year-old.

The man allegedly picked up the teen sometime during the middle of a night and took the teen to another location where the incident took place, the Oconee County Sheriff's Office reported.

The Sheriff's Office at this time isn't releasing any information about a specific date, time, or place relating to the incident or any other details "due to ongoing concurrent investigations in other jurisdictions," Chief Deputy Lee Weems said. Weems also said for now he's unable to reveal how the Sheriff's Office became involved.
