No One Injured in Accident Involving Oconee Deputy

An Oconee County deputy was involved in a two-car accident on Mars Hill Road near the Oconee County Middle School on Jan. 8.

No one was injured in a two-car accident on Mars Hill Road Sunday around 8 p.m. that involved an 's deputy.

A 1998 Jeep Wrangler driven by a 19-year-old Watkinsville man had stopped in the roadway to avoid four cats and was hit in the rear by a 2009 Chevrolet Silverado C150, a police vehicle, driven by deputy Jeremy Wasdin, according to a public information officer for the Georgia State Patrol. Both vehicles had been traveling northbound.

Neither motorist was injured and no citations were issued, the GSP noted.Β
