Nine Citations Issued For Underage Drinking at Party on Easter Morning

Vehicles were blocking the roadway near the party on Dogwood Hill, authorities report.

A party into the wee hours of Saturday to Easter Sunday morning was broken up when 's deputies learned a number of attendees were drinking alcohol while underage.

According to an incident report, the deputies were dispatched to a home in the 1000 block of Dogwood Hill just after midnight on April 8 in response to a large gathering where vehicles were blocking the roadway.Β  At the scene, they say cars were parked lining both sides of the road and it was difficult to travel the roadway.

The deputies met with two individuals in front of the residence who said there was a party in the basement and that most of the individuals were drinking while under the age of 21.Β

Deputies went around to the basement and spoke with a 19-year-old man who said he lived at the home and also admitted to drinking alcohol.Β  They contacted the man's grandfather, who said he was unaware of the party.

In all, deputies issued nine ordinance citations to individuals who admitted to drinking alcohol and also tested positive on a device that tests for alcohol consumption. All were asked to leave the residence with a sober driver and the remaining alcohol was destroyed by the 19-year-old while deputies stood watch.
