Police officers learned from a witness that after the incident, the dog’s owner quickly took them to a nearby residence, where he chained them behind a makeshift shack where two people live, the story says.

When the officers checked, they found three bloodied dogs, described as pit bulls by a police incident report. A woman who lives in the shack said a man who lives in the shack watches the dogs for the owner during the day, according to the story. The owner lets the dogs run loose in the evening.
