Inebriated and Naked Watkinsville Man Found in King Avenue Back Yard

A King Avenue resident found a naked, 20-year-old man lying on a bench in his backyard on Tuesday morning. The man, who's from Watkinsville, was charged with public intoxication and underage consumption of alcohol.

According to a story in the Athens Banner Herald, earlier in the evening two other men who share a home on King had let the 20-year-old sleep on their couch, believing he was too drunk to drive to Oconee County.

The sleeper later woke up one of the roommates when he appeared, naked, in the roommate's bedroom doorway, the story says. The man ran outside, urinated on the front porch, and rolled around in the front yard, police said. He then ran toward Prince while the roommate called 911.

The story says that 30 minutes later, another King Avenue resident found the naked man in his backyard. Police took the man to Athens Regional, where he was cited and released to the medical staff.
