Home, Shed, Car Entered in Watkinsville

Police say the incidents happened on Christian Drive, Woodside Place, and Bond Drive.

Watkinsville police last week investigated several reports of property crime. Chief Lee O'Dillon summarized the incidents as follows in his weekly news release:

  • At 10 a.m. Monday, April 22, a property owner at a Woodside Place resident discovered that someone had pried the door off a metal storage shed behind the house. Two new tool boxes and some car parts were stolen. The tool boxes were empty. The landlord suspects a former renter.
  • Police were called to a Christian Drive address Tuesday, April 23, at 5:23 p.m. after the homeowner arrived to find that his back door had been pried open. Nothing was found to be missing but the house had been searched. The break-in occurred during the day while the residents were away.
  • On Friday, April 26, at 7 a.m., a Bond Drive resident discovered that someone had entered and searched through his 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe overnight. The SUV had been unlocked at the time. The interior was ransacked but the owner determined that nothing was damaged or missing.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 30 calls within city limits between April 22-28, 2013.
