  • Police were called to New High Shoals Road on May 16 about 1 p.m. after a Dodge Stratus went across the roadway striking a mailbox and a tree, O'Dillon said. The driver fled but was caught behind a house off Harden Hill Road, he said. Ronson Tradd Westmoreland, 24, of Hardigree Bell Road, was arrested and charged with driving under the influence of drugs, leaving the scene of an accident, driving on a suspended driver's license, and driving on the wrong side of the road, O'Dillon said.

Watkinsville police responded to a total of 33 calls within city limits between Monday, May 16 and Sunday, May 22, O'Dillon said.
