For Second Time in Two Weeks, Man Accused of Fleeing from Oconee Deputies

Adrian Dimarco Lynn was apprehended at his residence on Tall Oaks Road Thursday afternoon. An arrest doesn't mean a conviction.

For allegedly fleeing from a traffic stop for the second time in two weeks, a 34-year-old man is again behind bars at Oconee County Jail.

A patrol deputy near Mars Hill Road spotted a dark blue GMC Sierra 1500 pickup truck around 3:20 p.m. Thursday headed east on Ga. 316.  The pikcup was being driven by a man known to have a suspended license, according to a sheriff's report.

The deputy pulled onto the highway, at which point the driver of the pickup "accelerated aggressively" and passed traffic in the left-hand lane, the deputy wrote.

With the patrol lights and sirens on, the deputy followed the pickup as it "cut aggressively into the turning lane then left on to Julian Drive."

The deputy says the driver then pulled behind a house in the 1000 block of Tall Oaks Road, ran from the truck and entered through the front door.  Chief Deputy Lee Weems confirmed the man resides at the address.

Other deputies arrived and set up a perimeter around the house and a PA system was used to call out to the suspect, according to the report.

Several minutes later, deputies say, the man emerged from the front door and was taken into custody without further incident.

Adrian Dimarco Lynn was charged with felony fleeing and attempting to elude, driving on a suspended license, obstruction, and a tire requirements violation.

Lynn was arrested on similar charges on Feb. 9.

Around the same time of day and also on Ga. 316 eastbound, a deputy that day attempted to pull Lynn over because the truck he was driving had multiple cracks across the windshield obstructing the driver's view, according to a report.

The deputy says he followed Lynn onto Jimmy Daniel Road and as he then made an abrupt left turn onto Vend Drive, before ultimately stopping directly in front of the entrance to Cox Media Group.

At first, the deputy wrote, Lynn didn't comply with verbal commands and he appeared agitated.  The deputy pulled out a Taser but it wasn't deployed and Lynn was handcuffed, the report stated.

He was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude, driving on a suspended license, and a windshield requirements violation, according to jail records.
