Drug and Theft Charges for Julian Drive Resident

An Oconee County man faces multiple drug charges after deputies investigated a report of a suspicious person at 1321 Julian Drive around 8:30 a.m. Saturday.

Authorities report a man was found in the back yard holding a pistol. When questioned, the man said he was the homeowner and that he thought he had seen someone attempting to steal his truck, according to a news release from the .

Deputies learned the man, 52-year-old Michael Lee Keyser, was wanted in Clarke County on a felony theft by receiving stolen property charge.Β  A check of the pistol in Keyser's possession uncovered that it was stolen, the news release continued.

Authorities also found "numerous drug-related items such as grow lights and scales, a substance believed to be methamphetamine, and a large quantity of marijuana," in Keyser's home, according to the news release.
