Buying That Candy Doesn't Help the Middle School Band

If you have doubts about door-to-door sales, try to learn more about the seller.

Various people have told the Oconee County Sheriff's Office that someone has been going door-to-door, selling candy. And claiming that money raised will benefit the Oconee County Middle School band.

Which isn't true, according to the sheriff's office Facebook page.

The band director himself weighed in and sent an email to someone who commented on the Facebook page, telling her the candy seller isn't helping Oconee Middle School's band.

So buy the candy if you wish--but know you are helping the seller, not the band.
