Deputies Hunt Theft Suspect

UPDATE: Two suspects are now in custody on theft and methamphetamine-related charges.

UPDATE:  Two suspects are now in custody after the Oconee County Sheriff's Office responded to a tip that they may have been involved with the theft of a motorcycle from Walton County, authorities reported.

The hunt for the pair began around noon when a man notified the Sheriff's Office that he had seen a stolen motorcycle in the back of a truck, Sheriff Scott Berry said.   The man confronted the suspects, who allegedly pushed the motorcycle out of the truck and drove off in the area of Hebron Church Road and Dove Creek Road, he said.

Deputies found the truck and a male suspect in the nearby woods and placed him into custody, Berry said, adding that a K-9 unit assisted in the search for the female suspect.  The woman was found at an area house around 2:30 pm., he said.
