On January 3, Phillip Scott Dyess, 30, of Winder, who wears a beard, was in the Epps Bridge Parkway Walmart around 8pm.

He is believed to have taken a can of shaving cream to the returns desk, returned it and been credited for $8.66, the cost of the can. The clerk put the money on a Walmart gift card.

He has been charged with shoplifting.

The clerk must have been pretty naïve to give a refund like that. What if he had walked up with a TV and asked for a refund?

If the loss prevention folks caught someone with a can of shaving cream, i imagine they would be all over someone trying to do this with a TV. Someone did try with electronics a few weeks ago, with the same result: arrest.
