Autozone Employee Accused of Stealing from the Store

The 23-year-old Watkinsville man has been charged with a misdemeanor after a three-month internal investigation. An arrest does not mean a conviction.

An employee of Autozone was arrested on Thursday following an investigation by store loss prevention personnel that took place over a three-month period, according to an Oconee County Sheriff's Office report.

Jonathan Rivera, 23, of Watkinsville, is accused of stealing property and currency from the store located on Hog Mountain Road with an estimated value of $203.84, according to the report.Β  The deputy says Rivera reportedly admitted to the theft.

Jail records show bond was set at $500 and Rivera was released later that day.
