Attic Catches on Fire at Home on Chaddwyck Drive

Oconee County firefighters were called to extinguish the blaze.

An electrical short in the roof vent fan of a house on Chaddwyck Drive is the probable cause of a fire that broke out in the attic on May 29.

Firefighters were called to the scene in the 1100 block at 2:35 p.m.

The fire was contained to the attic, Lara Crowe of the Fire Department said, and firefighters used about 250 gallons to extinguish the blaze.
