4-Count Indictment Returned in Oconee County for Accused Child Molester

Criminal indictments are not evidence of guilt; they are only charges. Defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty.

An Oconee County grand jury has handed down a four-count indictment against Michael Patrick Brock, 42, of Commerce that includes two counts of aggravated child molestation, one count aggravated sexual battery and one county statutory rape. The indictment was filed with the Oconee County Clerk of Superior Court on Nov. 5.

The indictment alleges Brock engaged in sexual intercourse with a female under the age of sixteen and "did commit an immoral and indecent act." According to previous reports, the incident allegedly involved a 14-year-old girl at an Oconee County residence where Brock was house sitting.

In February, Brock pleaded guilty in Banks County to two counts of statutory rape and was sentenced to 15 years in prison and 20 years of consecutive probation.  He's currently serving time at Georgia State Prison.
