Busy week (and a half) of soccer

Very busy week (and a half) of soccer!

 

U13 girls played two this past weekend. Last Saturday, the girls played GMSA to a 1-1 draw. Christine Mpemble scored for OSA. Sunday the team beat Galaxy FC 1-0 with Christine Mpemble scoring.  The games continued on Wednesday. The girls played Walton County at home and won 2-1.

U13 Red has had a busy week and a half. Thursday night (5/9) the team traveled to Gwinnett to play GFC and continued their undefeated season with a 2-0 win. John Lupica and Marcel Siger scored and Keeper, Drew Byus recorded the shut out in this great team effort. Saturday and Sunday the team played in the President's Cup Tournament. Saturday morning the team played SSA and won 3-0 and played AFC in the afternoon and won 4-1. Sunday morning the team played GFC and lost 0-1 in a very close game. The team came back in the afternoon to play Inter Atlanta, the number one team in Classic 2, to a 2-2 tie at the end of regulation. The score was still tied at the end on overtime and the game went to penalty kicks. Keeper Drew Byus was stellar saving two awesome shots, but in the end the Inter Atlanta team won 3-2. Monday the team traveled to Lilburn to play the YMCA Arsenal team from Rome. The Red team, exhausted from their busy schedule, suffered their only loss of the season with the score of 3-1. Thursday, the team traveled to Milton to play Rush for their last game of the season. This game was a great team effort and OSA won with the score of 4-2.

U13 White tied YMCA Strikers 2-2 on Saturday. Goals were scored by Zander Dale and James Madden with the assist going to Matthew Roche. Sunday the team beat Triumph 2-0. Goals were scored by James Madden and Frankie Daniels. Wednesday, the team played local rivals, Athens United, and suffered their first loss of the season with the score of 0-2. Thursday they bounced back to win against GFC by the score of 1-0.

U13 Black have finished their season and did not have games this weekend

U 14s did not play on the weekend, but hosted UFA on Monday. The team played well and tied 1-1.

U17 boys played in the President's Cup tournament this weekend. They had one win, one loss, and one tie. Their tie was against the number one team in the division who had won every game until they played OSA. This team also had a number of players who played in the High School playoffs for Clarke Central and OCHS while playing in the tournament.

OSA is hosting the Under Armour Invitational this weekend at Oconee Veterans Park and OCMS. Come on out to watch some great soccer and cheer for your hometown club. Action will be going on all weekend.
