Big weekend for several OSA Teams

Big weekend with important games for several teams.

This weekend was a big one for several of our teams.

U13 girls did not play.


U13 boys Black won 4-1 against Pike County Fury. The goals were scored by Parker Allen, James DeLaurier, Owen Hallauer, and Carson Allen who was guest playing from the U12s. Nathan Peecher was wonderful in goal.

U13 boys White lost 1-0 to the undefeated, number 1 team in the division SSA Chelsea.


U13 Boys Red lost a very good game to the undefeated, number 1 team in the division, GSA Phoenix Red. OSA held the GSA team scoreless through 60 minutes of play with a fantastic showing by the defense with help from the midfield. The final was 2-0, with the first goal coming on an offsides play. Drew Byus had his best game of the season in the goal.

U14 boys played Concorde Fire, the number 1 team in the division, and tied them 1-1. Thomas Murray scored in the first 7 minutes of the game. The Concorde team then scored right over the hands of our keeper at the very end of the second half. The second half was scoreless with several missed opportunities. All in all, the boys played great. The team never gave up nor were they intimidated!! The team moved up in the rankings after being able to hang with the number one team!


U15 girls played TSC to a 0-0 draw this weekend.


U15 boys remained unbeaten this weekend when they travelled to Savannah to play the Coastal Rovers. The score was 2-0.


U16 boys had an interesting game against RYSA. The score was 3-0 with our boys losing, however, with nine yellow card cautions given and one red card ejection, it was a very lively game.  The Oconee team had the fewest cards.


U17 girls lost 3-2 to GSA Phoenix White.


U17 Boys were playing hard to be promoted to the next division on Saturday night. The match was against the NW YMCA Strikers Black at Oconee Veterans Park at 6:45 and drew a large crowd of supporters.Score of the game was 3-0 with goals scored by Chase Kane (2) and Daniel Mendsen (1). The defense was solid and held the Strikers scoreless. This win promotes the team to Classic II. Oconee Soccer Alliance and the players would like to thank all of the fans who came out to support the team. The players loved playing under the lights. "It was one of the best atmospheres I have ever been around in youth soccer. I feel very lucky to have taken part. Thank you." said coach Jordan Prempeh.


Coach Ed Rock's U-19 boys finished their season undefeated going 10-0-1 winning the Classic III division. The team played two games this weekend. Saturday, the team had a hard fought 2-0 victory in Griffin. Sunday's home finale saw a come from behind 2-2 draw for the only blemish on an otherwise perfect season. Jorge Delgado scored 2 goals in each game and finished with the league lead in goals for the second straight year. The season saw fine play by all the players with new additions to the team making wonderful contributions. The team now looks forward to the Nike Cup the first weekend in December.


U19 Howard's U19 team lost 3-2 to AFC Lightning.

Most teams are finished with the season, so there will be very little action this coming weekend. There will be two games; U13 Red boys will play at home on Sunday at 2:30 against the Tiger SC. The U15 boys hope to remain undefeated when they play Lanier Sharks away on Saturday.
