Spring Greens Coming To Oconee Farmers Market
By Lee Becker
Market Board Customer Representative
Vendors are planning to bring the first of the spring greens to the Oconee Farmers Market on Saturday, including kale, brussel sprouts, broccoli, radishes, arugula and lettuce.
Beef, chicken, lamb and pork also will be on offer.
Baked good will include breads, pound cakes, strawberry-rhubarb and other pies, iced Easter cookies and frozen empanadas.
Vendors also will have peanuts, jams, jellies, handmade jewelry, soaps and crafts, bedding and landscape plants, birdhouses and more!
Music By Simpson
Benjamin Simpson, singer/song writer/guitarist and senior at Oconee County High School, will provide the music.
He performs a mixture of psychedelic/classic rock and folk music, heavily influenced by Pink Floyd.
The Market runs from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. in front of the courthouse in downtown Watkinsville.
And, oh yes, one of the market offerings is home-made gelato–in multiple flavors!
