Vendors had fresh greens, plants, baked goods, honey, soaps, eggs, various kinds of meats, hand-made jewelry, peanuts, kettle corn and other products.
The Red Oak Southern String Band, a Watkinsville-based group, provided its mixture of folk, Bluegrass and Americana music to complement the other activities.
Market Moved Last Year
The Market is operating in front of the courthouse in downtown Watkinsville for the second year, having moved from across the street on the grounds of the Eagle Tavern.
Many customers today said they saw the market underway while driving through Watkinsville and stopped to explore.
The Market started with 10 vendors in the first session in front of the courthouse last April 14 and has grown ever since. At the height of the season last year, 36 vendors set up booths.
The Market opens at 8 a.m. each Saturday and continues through 1 p.m.
Plans are for the Market to remain open until the end of November.
