Fresh Veggies, Water Activities and Tunes This Saturday at the Oconee Farmers Market

The Oconee Farmers Market will be full of fun this Memorial Day Weekend with the 4th Saturday Children's Activity, good tunes, and great eats!

By Elizabeth Poland

This Memorial Day Weekend, join the Oconee Farmers Market for the water-themed 4th Saturday Children's Activity! All the children will have the opportunity to make and take home a rain gauge.

The 4th Saturday Children's Activity is new to the market, but has already seen great results.

The market aims to plan activities to engage with and educate the kids visiting the market in creative ways.

In last month's activity, children learned how to properly transplant tomatoes into a paper cup that they could then transplant into the ground.

In addition to fun and informational activities for the kids, come enjoy some tunes from our returning musician, Louis Philip Pelot. Also, don't forget the market always offers free coffee and water to patrons!

As always, the Saturday market will be open from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m., rain or shine, in front of the courthouse in downtown Watkinsville. Also, plan a visit to the new Tuesday market held on the lawn of Watkinsville First Christian Church from 4 until 7 p.m.
